Message: I heard the story of Megan, just a few days ago. It really blessed me. Gave me hope. I lost a daughter just over a year ago to a repeat DUI offender. I thought my life was over. Even though I am Christian and deeply love God, I didn't know if I was gonna make it thru this. Your story really encouraged me.
My daughters' killer was her age (31). He got a life sentence for murder in the second degree. I was so glad they didn't trivialize my sweet girls' life!
I forgave her killer from the witness stand. I told him to please turn his life around and do SOMETHING positive with it!
Still...I struggle with the bills, medical. Funeral.
Any advice you can give... Thank You!

Message: I was awakened by a pounding on the front door. Police had come to alert me, that my daughter had been the victim in a tragic accident. Every parents' worst nightmare.
We were escorted to the hospital at high speed, but she never knew we were there. She was pronounced dead minutes within out arrival. She'd just run to Walmart to get some milk and bread and a new Wii game for the kids. Thank God she'd dropped them off at home, just minutes before! He (drunk, a repeat DUI offender) blew thru a red light, smashing her car almost in half. She died the next day.
A couple days later, after her funeral (during the worst blizzard in over 50 years).
P.S., I got a letter, a couple of days ago from one of my daughter's kidney recipients and the kidney is doing fine! The lady is a Christian (as was Laura)!
Oh, and the man who killed her...got life in prison for second degree murder. I forgave him from the witness stand and am praying for his salvation. It won't bring Lori back, but she'd be pleased! ;)

Message: You should tell your story to the MADD foundation. MADD stands dor Mothers Against Drunk Driving. My god mother's daughter was a victim of drunk driving. She was 3 years old and her father had been drinking and they had gotten in an accident. She was afriad to ride in a car for a very long time. Her mother speaks for MADD all the time she lives in Charleston, SC.

Message: This story is tragic and God is proud of you for being able to forgive. Mr. Smallridge was a young man who made a mistake which had life altering consequences. That you could give him your blessing to honor Meghan and Lisa's memory by having another chance at life is truly amazing. God bless you all and the Smallridge family as well. I am sure your combined efforts are making a difference.

Message: Dear Renee,
Your presentation touched me the other day. I go to Barron Collier High School and I just wanted to thank you for your lovely presentation and for all that you're doing. The fact that you were able to hug the man who took your daughters life inspires me to be like you. Forgiveness is a gift that many people aren't blesses with. I have never personally lost someone due to a drunk driving accident, but a close family friend was killed a year ago this month due to Over excessive amounts of Alcohol. Her daughter is the same age Megan was when she was killed. Everyday the pain of losing her gets better and better, but It will never be fully healed. Again, I just wanted to thank you so much for everything you're doing and good luck with your future presentations.
Sincerely,
Caroline Hasson
