Message: I just wanted to say that this story touched my heart. Renee came with Eric to my school today to give this presentation. I am so happy to see that he is using his sentence to turn other peoples' lives around. I've never drank before and this story is definitely my decision not to drive(although I probably wouldn't have anyways). I am 16 years old and I just wanted to say that this really opened my eyes about drinking and driving, and even texting and having other distractions. It only takes one second for something to go wrong, and it does affect more than one person. I hope this story inspires everyone who hears it not to drink and drive, or make any other stupid decisions. I have so much respect for the Dickson ,Napier, and Smallridge families for forgiving Eric and his actions, and using it to inspire kids to do the right thing.

Message: Rene,
We were visiting my mother in laws church this morning in Oceanside, CA. The sermon was on forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. The pastor ended the sermon with a video about you. Small world isn't it. I hope you are well.

Message: Your video and that song...breaks my heart every time I watch it. I'm so sorry for your loss. But it is amazing that you were strong enough to forgive Eric...a man that was not a killer, but made a huge, horrible mistake. I'll never forget this video and your family and Eric...you did a great thing and accomplished reaching out to people who had never met you. Thank you. Eric gets out soon...will you continue to post what happens after that?
